Musicians from Milngavie and Bearsden Following Stereophonics Footsteps

The footsteps of the Stereophonics is being followed by talented musicians from Milngavie and Bearsden, when they play at the Classic Grand nightclub in Glasgow at the end of the month.

At the Classic Grand in November 2009 played by Stereophonics and this event ‘Autotrack and Guests,, which has been organised by a sixth year pupil at Bearsden Academy, is going to be just as exciting!

Bilge Morgan, the 17 year old said: “Places on this course are hard to get, it is highly competitive, so I needed to prove that I can organise an event like this.

“It will host four bands and one singer song writer and everyone involved comes from the local schools - Bearsden Academy, Douglas Academy and Boclair Academy.

“They will perform their own songs as well as covers and they are all very excited about taking part as this is a great opportunity to publicise themselves.

“I have even got them a VIP area in the venue, where they can invite some of their friends to ‘hang out’ with them, to make it more rock star!

“Having said that, there is a mixture of alternative and acoustic bands - in one band there is even a ukulele!

“The venue has a capacity for 500 people and I hope it will be a sell-out.”
