Ex-Stereophonics Star Stuart Cable Died Of 'Vodka Diet'


To lose weight on a vodka diet had been tried by Ex-Stereophonics Star Stuart Cable and he died because of it.

In Aberdare, South Wales at his home he died last year in June after choking on his own vomit. A post-mortem said he was five times over the drink-drive limit.

Think Before You Drink,campaign has been launched by Rachel Jones, 33,which is hoping to get stronger warnings on spirit bottles.

She told the Metro Cable had been trying to lose weight ahead of a tour with his new band.

“The guys were getting gig fit,” Jones said. “There are diets that say a vodka is better than half a lager because it is lower in calories but spirits are so strong people don’t realise what they are doing to them.”

Cable was one of the original members of Stereophonics, but was sacked in 2003.

Stereophonics's Stuart Cable Killed by 'Vodka Diet'

Stuart Cable's death led above, a former Stereophonics drummer trying to lose weight drink alcohol lager was stopped, his partner Rachel Jones has revealed.

As reported by Spinner, Cable passed away last June at his mansion in South Wales after a three-day drinking binge to celebrate her 40th birthday.

According to the Daily Record, Jones said, "Stuart was getting ready for a festival. All the guys were getting gig-fit. There are diets that say a vodka is better than half a lager because it is lower in calories. Stuart had a large amount of spirits that night and that took its toll on him.

Spirits are so strong that people don't realise what they are doing to them.

Don't die like Stuart did. If you saw someone drinking poison or bleach you would stop them. People need to be aware that spirits can lead to deaths."
