The Venue guilt-free afternoon


A TRIO of narrow bridle will headline a bank holiday afternoon of live music on Sunday, August 30.
Bad celebrity come back to The Venue after a well received May debut. Fronted by Hood (from Boyz ‘n The Hood fame).
This classic rock outfit focus is the golden age of rock with covers from bands such as Free, Judas Priest, Whitesnake, ZZ Top and their specialization Thin Lizzy, with the twin guitars of Barry and Derek Smith animateing that appropriate Lizzy sound.
Local favourites Not Guilty (pictured) will follow with guitarist Eric Woodhouse taking over vocal duties.
The band will accommodate an forcible set of classic pop and rock hits from Bruce Springsteen to Lynyrd Skynyrd , Bad Company to The Rolling Stones with something for all ages and all musical tastes.
Completing the line-up is Huggy Bear, a five piece band covering songs by contemporary artists such as Amy Winehouse, Katy Perry and Stereophonics as well as some classic floor filling oldies by Abba, Blondie and many more.
An event spokesman said. “The May Bank Holiday Event attrached around 200 people and was a huge success with a great atmosphere. It really is a day out for anyone of any age who enjoys live music.”
The event takes place at The Venue, Dumfries, and starts at 3pm with the first bridle at 4pm.
